Decating – Ekofast & Batch
Setting cloth so it stays exactly as it should, long after it leaves us
The Ekofast – The machine at the heart of nearly everything we finish.
We work with many of the world’s leading designers and tailors, who demand that their fabrics remain stable and never shrink during garment making. The Ekofast, a hundred-year-old idea, still unmatched. It combines intense heat – around 135°C – with continuous heavy pressing in a single process, stabilising cloth and giving it a handle that’s genuinely difficult to achieve any other way. It’s one of the least glamorous-looking machines in the building, and quite possibly the most important.
Designed for stability, permanence and consistency.
Also part of decating: Batch Decating.
Not every order calls for the continuous Ekofast process. For high-volume production, our batch decating line, often in conjunction with the Ekofast process, delivers high-temperature setting with the batch-to-batch consistency that large runs demand – the fabric arrives at the cutting table exactly as stable as the piece before it, and the piece after.
The best finish is the one a tailor never has to think about.
Whether cloth passes through the Ekofast or our batch decating line, the goal is the same: a tailor anywhere in the world can trust that the fabric in front of them will behave exactly as it did when it left our mills.
Our Other Finishing Processes
Our finishing processes allow each textile to relax to its natural width, ensuring optimal hang and fold
